Privacy Policy
This policy explains what information Warden handles, where it goes, and the choices you have. Warden AI ("we", "us"), is responsible for the personal information described here (the "controller"). You can reach us at aiwarden534@gmail.com.
The short version
- Warden's brains, its voice and its listening run on your own computer. What you type and say to them is processed there.
- Your conversations, memory and settings are saved on your computer. They're copied to your Warden account only if you sign in and keep syncing on, so they follow you to your other devices. You can turn that off at any time.
- We don't sell your information, we don't show ads, and we don't use your content to train AI models.
- Some features have to use the internet, such as web lookups, sign-in, payments, phone access and support. This policy says exactly what each one sends and to whom.
1. What stays on your computer
Unless a feature below says otherwise, these stay on your computer, and we never receive them: your chats and Whisper conversations; the audio of what you say (turned into text on your computer); files you open, attach or let Warden work with; screenshots On my screen takes to see your screen; pictures, video, code and other things Warden makes; "a voice of your own" recordings; and the things Warden learns about you (its memory). They're stored in Warden's folder and the app's local storage. You can export them, or delete them in Settings → Your data.
2. What we collect, and why
Your account (if you sign in). When you sign in with Google, Google tells us your email address, name and profile picture, and confirms your address is verified. We keep these with the date your account was made and when it was last used, so we can run your account, show you who's signed in, and connect your plan. We ask Google for nothing else: no access to your Gmail, Drive, contacts or anything in your Google account. Our use of information from Google follows the Google API Services User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements.
Your devices. For each device you sign in on, we keep a session with the device's name (for example "Jay's PC"), when it started and when it expires (180 days). Session keys are stored only in scrambled (hashed) form.
Things you choose to sync. If you're signed in and "Keep my chats in my account" is on, we store your settings, Warden's memory about you, and your conversations from each part of Warden. That way they appear on every device you sign in on. They're stored on our account server and used only to give them back to you. Turn syncing off, or remove them from your account, in Settings → Your data.
Your plan and payments. Paddle (paddle.com) sells Warden's plans as Merchant of Record and handles payment details. We never see your full card number. We receive and keep what we need to give you your plan: your email address, the plan, its status, the subscription's ID and its dates.
Usage of your plan. Your plan's daily points are counted by Warden on your own device, so it can show you what's left. The count is of how many pictures, builds and other pieces of work you asked for, not their content, and it isn't sent to us.
Support requests. When you contact support from Warden, we receive your email address, your name if you give it, the subject and your message, and Warden's version number. If you leave "Include details about this computer" ticked, we also receive technical details: your graphics card and its memory, your computer's memory and processor count, its operating system, which of Warden's brains are installed, the last part of the engine's log, and Warden's recent error messages. We never receive your files, your conversations or anything you've typed into Warden. We use this to help you and to fix Warden.
Your agreement to our terms. We record which version of our terms and policies you agreed to, and when, so we can show what you agreed to.
3. What other services receive when you use certain features
- Looking things up on the web. When Warden searches or reads the web for you, your search words go to the search services it uses (such as DuckDuckGo, Bing, Brave Search, Yahoo, Mojeek and Wikipedia), and it opens the web pages they point to. For pictures it may use Wikimedia Commons and Openverse. Those services see the request and your computer's internet (IP) address, and their own privacy policies apply. In Settings → Chat you can tell Warden to look things up only when you ask.
- "Near me" questions. If you ask about something near you and Warden doesn't know your town, it asks ipapi.co or ipinfo.io for an approximate location based on your IP address. The result is kept on your computer for a day.
- Using Warden from your phone. If you turn on phone access, Warden opens a secure tunnel through Cloudflare so your phone can reach your computer. What you send between your phone and your computer passes through Cloudflare's network, protected by a private code only your devices have.
- Downloads. Warden downloads its AI models and engine from sites such as Hugging Face, GitHub and PyTorch, which see your IP address. When On my screen downloads something you asked for, it comes from the site you're on.
- Sign-in and payments. Google (sign-in) and Paddle (payments) process the information described above under their own privacy policies.
4. Who we share information with
We don't sell personal information, and we don't share it for advertising. We share it only with the service providers that run Warden's online services for us, and only for that purpose:
- Cloudflare, which hosts our account server, its database, our website and phone tunnels.
- Google, for sign-in.
- Paddle, for payments, as Merchant of Record.
We may also disclose information if the law requires it, to protect someone's safety, to defend our legal rights, or as part of a sale or merger of Warden. A buyer would have to keep this policy's promises.
5. Legal bases (for people in the EU, UK and similar places)
We use your information: to provide Warden and your account and plan (contract); to keep Warden secure, prevent abuse and improve it (our legitimate interests); to read the computer details you choose to send to support (your consent, which you can withdraw); and to keep records the law requires (legal obligation).
6. Where it's stored, and transfers
Our online services run on Cloudflare's network, and your information may be processed in the United States and other countries. Where the law requires it, we rely on appropriate safeguards for international transfers, such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses.
7. How long we keep it
- Account details and synced things: until you delete them or delete your account.
- Device sessions: until they expire (180 days) or you sign out.
- Support requests: up to 24 months after they're closed.
- Plan and payment records: as long as tax and accounting laws require.
- Records of your agreement to our terms: as long as your account exists.
Things on your computer stay until you delete them.
8. Your choices and rights
You can: turn syncing off; take your chats and memory out of your account; export your conversations; delete everything on your computer (Settings → Your data); and delete your Warden account, which deletes your synced things and sessions from our server (Settings → Your data → Delete my Warden account, or by asking us). Depending on where you live, you may also have the right to access, correct, delete or receive a copy of your personal information, to object to or restrict how we use it, and to withdraw consent. To use these rights, email aiwarden534@gmail.com. We'll respond within the time the law requires, and we won't treat you differently for using them. If we turn down a request, you can ask us to reconsider. You may also complain to your local data protection authority.
US state privacy rights. Residents of California and other states with privacy laws have rights to know, access, correct and delete their personal information, and to opt out of its "sale", "sharing" for targeted advertising, and profiling. We don't sell or share personal information, or use it for targeted advertising or profiling with legal or similarly significant effects. We don't use sensitive personal information to infer things about you. You may use an authorised agent, and we may need to verify your identity.
9. Children
Warden isn't meant for children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child under 13 has given us information, contact us and we'll delete it.
10. Security
We protect information with encryption in transit (HTTPS), scrambled session keys, and access limits on our servers. Most of your information never leaves your computer at all. No system is perfectly secure. If something goes wrong that affects your information, we'll tell you as the law requires.
11. Changes to this policy
If we change this policy in an important way, we'll tell you in Warden before the change takes effect.
